Women in Physics Network
The Women in Physics Network of the Department of Physics of the University of Basel aims to encourage networking among female physicists. Established in 2017 by Prof. Dr. Jelena Klinovaja and Prof. Dr. Ilaria Zardo, the Network promotes the exchange of experiences and information among female members of the department, with particular focus on (but not restricted to) gender-related issues in the scientific world. In particular, regular lunch meetings with invited speakers highlight different possible career paths for female physicists and serve as a platform for informal discussions in a relaxed environment. In addition, various social events create a sense of community among female members of the department.
